UI/UX Designer

About the Role

We're looking for a versatile designer to own the visual identity of Pronto — from our mobile apps to our marketing presence. You'll design interfaces that feel intuitive for riders booking their first trip and drivers managing their earnings, create the graphics and marketing materials that grow our brand, and have enough frontend chops to bring your designs to life in code when needed.

This is a foundational role on a small team. You'll shape our design language, build our component systems, create marketing assets, and go out into the field to understand how people actually use our products in Kinshasa.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end user experiences for our rider and driver mobile apps
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma
• Build and maintain our design system and component library
• Create graphics and visual assets for marketing — social media content, driver recruitment materials, promotional flyers, and brand collateral
• Implement designs in code for our marketing website using HTML, CSS/Tailwind, and basic React components
• Conduct user research and usability testing in the field with riders and drivers
• Iterate based on user feedback, product metrics, and business goals
• Leverage AI design tools to accelerate creative workflows and explore design variations

Requirements

• 3+ years of product design experience, preferably in mobile
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking and visual design range
• Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools
• Graphics design skills — ability to create marketing materials, social media assets, and brand collateral
• Proficiency with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
• Working knowledge of frontend development — HTML, CSS/Tailwind, and basic React
• Experience building and maintaining design systems
• Understanding of mobile platform conventions (iOS and Android)
• Comfort with user research and usability testing
• Familiarity with AI-powered design tools (Midjourney, DALL-E, Figma AI, or similar)

Nice to Have

• Experience designing for emerging markets or diverse user bases
• Background in mobility, fintech, or marketplace products
• Experience with motion design or micro-interactions
• French language skills
• Prior startup experience
